Angry Peaches

Angry Peachers is a retro 2-player fighting game about sentient peaches. Players battle by smashing themselves into each other.

The game is based on the Garage Project beer of the same name. It was developed in under two weeks for Play by Pint, a public event which was part of the 2019 NZ Games Festival.

The sound design and music is heavily inspired by 8-bit era games.

For the music, I wanted to do something over-the-top to compliment the absurdity of the game's concept. It starts off with a simple, happy chiptune melody and bassline. This repeats a few times before the song abruptly drops into aggressive synth-metal, introducing drums and distorted guitar, and modulating the main melody into a minor key.
